ROSELAND, N.J., FEBRUARY 5, 2009 - The Gale Construction Company, LLC, a subsidiary of Mack-Cali Realty Corporation (NYSE: CLI), recently completed construction of an addition and renovation at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union at 118 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange, N.J. Solomon Schechter utilized a construction management project delivery approach. Gale also provided pre-construction phase management services for the project, while Rotwein & Blake Associated Architects P.A. of Livingston, N.J. provided architectural services.

The scope of work at the Solomon Schechter Day School included a new 13,000-square-foot addition at the school's main entrance with offices and a three-story glass tower. Interior renovations were also completed and include a new security station, administrative office spaces and state-of-the-art science labs.

A few weeks after construction at the Solomon Schechter Day School was completed a garbage truck collided with the facility and caused extensive damage to the exterior and the recently built science labs.

"As a direct result of our previous working relationship with the Solomon Schechter School, the Gale Construction Company got the call to commence repairs immediately after the unfortunate incident," stated Trapp. "There were a number of crucial obstacles to be overcome in regard to restoration of the facility, including a looming first-day-of-school deadline. Our team's expertise and familiarity with the structure was a key advantage that absolutely aided us in completing the work in one month, therefore meeting the Labor Day deadline."
